The Macro Lo Ion kit is suitable for testing ponds, streams, tap water, distilled water, condensates, untreated boiler waters and any solutions with less than 1000ppm of dissolved solids. Sample readings of about 10ml are matched to a color chart with clear changes at each pH unit in the 10.0-12.0 pH range. Accurate readings for dilute or unbuffered solutions are obtained with this kit where regular dip and read papers may errantly read low. This low reading is caused by the indicator ions in the pH paper overriding the ions in the sample solution. A dispenser containing a 1/2 inch x 600 inch roll of test paper, two comparator color charts and three capped sample tubes are contained in a polypropylene case for portability.
